The World Bank is an international financial institution that provides loans and grants to the governments of low- and middle-income countries to pursue capital projects.
The World Bank is the collective name for the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and International Development Association (IDA), two of five international organizations owned by the World Bank Group. It was established along with the International Monetary Fund at the 1944 Bretton Woods Conference.
For the last 30 years, it has included NGOs and environmental groups in its loan portfolio. Its loan strategy is influenced by the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, as well as environmental and social safeguards.
The IMF is a global organization that works to achieve sustainable growth and prosperity for all of its 190 member countries. It does so by supporting economic policies that promote financial stability and monetary cooperation, which are essential to increase productivity, job creation, and economic well-being. The IMF is governed by and accountable to its member countries.

Submit online application and a non-refundable application fee
- Be prepared to submit official documentation which substantiates your academic and employment qualifications.

Conduct a video interview to demonstrate personal charactor and English proficiency
- The video interview usually lasts about 15 minutes.

Application Evaluation
- Stanley Prep evaluates your complete application and issues an acceptance decision within approximately 2 weeks. During this step, a Stanley Prep staff member may reach out with additional questions.

Receive an acceptance letter, a program agreement, and a program fee invoice
- Expect to receive the acceptance package in an email. Please let us know if you don’t receive it within two weeks after the interview, and we will make sure to resolve the issues.

Submit an electronically signed program agreement, consent & waiver forms, and evidence of program fee payment
- Follow the instructions in the acceptance email to upload those electronically signed documents. Uploading the payment receipt you get from your bank would allow us to track your payment and expedite the process. A service fee is added for a credit card payment.
