What is a visa interview and how do I schedule one?
Timeline, eligibility and required documents.
Is it possible to apply for a visa extension while in the U.S.?
Visas must be obtained in the home countries of Government fellows and, therefore, cannot be extended within U.S. territories. However, the DS-2019 may be extended even if the J-1 visa has expired. In these circumstances, Government fellows may legally stay within the U.S. during the permitted period, but will be subject to restrictions upon exiting and entering the U.S.

How do mentor matches work?
Criteria, duration and communication etiquette.
Mentor matching uses your profile goals, field of study, preferred timezone, and availability. Matches are suggested with a short mentor bio, areas of expertise and suggested first‑meeting topics.
Trial mentoring sessions last up to 30 minutes. Ongoing mentorship is scheduled monthly or biweekly depending on preferences.
